An indenting agency can be seen as a two-way guide between a customer and the seller. The primary job of an indenting agency is to serve the buyer and the seller so that the customer gets the best value for the product, and the seller makes a good profit out of the deal. Many times, an indenting agency is mistaken as a buying agent. The working of the indenting agency can also be summarized in these few steps:

  • Discovering the agents: The Company finds appropriate agents and is deployed on the field after signing of contracts and completing paper works.
  • Initializing sale: The indenting agent finds appropriate clients for the deal and confirms it on behalf of the company.
  • Completing the deals: The indenting agent makes sure that the products are shipped or stored until the transaction process is completed. And after shipping makes sure that the client receives the expected product within the time limits.
  • Feedback: The indenting agent then reports the statistics of the sale and analyses the demand of the market for the company to release new products or regulate the existing ones.
  • Contract: The Company then accordingly renews or revokes the contract after the deal is closed. The closing of the deal includes the payment of the fees or commissions of the agent accordingly.

Once an indenting agent is free from one contract, he/she is free to strike other deals and continue the cycle. Many times, the contract period can span up to many years, or even lifetime contracts are possible. Since an agency is made up of many agents, the cycle can continue between multiple companies in parallel without any difficulties and the commissions are shared to the agency itself after which the agents are paid accordingly.
